This half-day lecture will discuss how identifying and working within triangles and individual and organizational anxiety has provided a foundation for successfully navigating management positions in a university setting. Focusing on a 6-year period of employment in a university in which I held different positions, I will discuss my attempts to use Bowen theory and manage self (successfully and unsuccessfully) in light of multiple and frequent changes.

The goal for this presentation is that participants will be able to describe how the presenter used principles in Bowen theory to navigate her functioning in different management positions during a six year period in a university setting.
