The WPFC Introductory and Self-Directed course of study is offered for those wanting to learn Bowen Family Systems Theory in a less-intensive format, whether new to the theory or already familiar with it. Working for eight months with a faculty mentor—either one-on-one or in a small group—learners meet monthly for one-to-two hours (depending on the size of the group) to discuss readings and application of the theory in personal or professional contexts. Between meetings, learners take responsibility for readings, short written assignments, and the study of their own family or organizational system.
Registration: Prospective learners will complete an application form that can be requested by contacting the WPFC offices via email [email protected] or by phone 412-362-2295. The course fee includes a free copy of Bowen Family Systems Theory: A Workbook for Learning and Application. In addition, learners are offered a 50% discount on all WPFC workshops, lectures, and seminars held during the eight months of the self-directed study course.
